Support from Booking.com to create FREE E-Learning for Hotels

Thanks to ongoing support from Booking.com, TWP is working to develop a FREE E-Learning for hotels on how to reduce plastic and keep staff and guests safe. Content will be developed with technical support from the hygiene experts at Intertek Cristal.
TWP amongst first signatories of Global Tourism Plastics Initiative

21 leading tourism companies, suppliers, business associations, NGOs, consultancies and certification schemes announced their signature of the Global Tourism Plastics Initiative and disclosed their ambitious commitments with regards to the elimination of unnecessary single-use plastics, transition to reuse models and use of reusable, recyclable, or compostable plastic packaging and items.

The Global Tourism Plastics Initiative was officially announced today by the World Tourism Organization (UNWTO) and UNEP, in collaboration with the Ellen MacArthur Foundation. This initiative unites the tourism sector behind a common vision to tackle the root causes of plastic pollution, enabling businesses and governments to take joint action.

The Thomas Cook Group has pledged to remove 70 million single use items from across its portfolio by 2020. Key hotels involved in the change are supported by the TWP Let's Reduce Single Use Toolkit which saves hotels an average of €5000 every year.
